Thyroid: 

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that lies low on the front of the neck. It lies below Adam’s apple, along the front of the windpipe. The thyroid has two side lobes, connected by a bridge (isthmus) in the middle.

There are various Thyroid conditions such as Goitre, Thyroiditis, Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, Graves’ disease, Thyroid cancer, Thyroid nodule, and Thyroid storm.

Halasana/ Plough Pose: This pose stretches the shoulders and spine, and acts as a therapeutic solution for backache, headaches, etc. It also stimulates the abdominal organs and the thyroid gland.

Matsyasana/ Fish pose: Matsyasana provides adequate stretching to the neck triggering the thyroid gland.

Arthritis:  

Arthritis is a common rheumatic condition among adults aged 65 or more. These days’ people of all age groups can be affected by arthritis which includes pain, stiffness, and swelling in and around one or more joints. It is an inflammation of the joints. Child Pose/ Shishuasana: This asana is performed by beginners too. It alleviates any pain in the neck, head or shoulders and also prevents and reduces feelings of anxiety and depression.

AdhoMukhaSvanasana/ Downward facing dog pose: It improves the flexibility of the body and stretches the spine.

Lower back pain: 

The most intricate part of the human body is the lower back. Long hours of desk work can cause severe problems.

The following are symptoms of this condition: 

Fever and chills, sudden bowel and/or bladder incontinence – either difficulty passing urine or having a bowel movement or loss of control of urination or bowel movement, severe and continuous abdominal pain.

To prevent and cure this condition, following yoga asanas are suggested: 

SuptaMatsyendrasana/ Supine Spinal Twist: If you want to feel relieved from constant back pain, this asana is can be your permanent solution.

Vrikshasana/ Tree Pose: The final pose of this asana looks like that of a tall tree, hence the name. It stretches the things, torso, and shoulders, and builds strength in the ankles and calves.

Diabetes:  

It is a condition that affects a person’s metabolic system as the glucose level rises because of inadequate insulin production or due to the insufficient response of the body to insulin.

The following are symptoms of this condition:

Hunger and fatigue, peeing more often and being thirstier, dry mouth and itchy skin, blurred vision, etc.

To prevent and cure this condition, following yoga asanas are suggested:

ArdhaMatsyendrasana/ Half Spinal Twist: People suffering from diabetes should do this asana to control body sugar levels.

Chakrasana/ Wheel pose: Chakrasana also helps people who are suffering from diabetes.

Indigestion/ Stomach Disorder:

Stomach disorder and indigestion can lead to several health issues such as Gastritis, Diarrhoea, heartburn, etc.

Nausea and vomiting, bloating and gas, weight loss or loss of appetite, blood with bowel movement, severe abdominal pain, ongoing vomiting or diarrhea.

Apanasana/ Knees to chest pose: 

If you have any adversity with any sort of stomach disorder then this pose can relieve you from constipation, indigestion, bloating and acidity. It is beneficial for digestion and helps in removing toxic substances from the entire system.

Paschimottanasana/ Seated Forward Bend Pose: This is a very simple asana that stretches the spine, shoulders, and hamstrings. It stimulates the liver, kidneys, ovaries, etc., and helps improve digestion.
